I started with a pair of paper mache boots. I then made supports out of aluminium strips and secured in place with expanding foam (available from any hardware shop).

These were mounted on a board, and connected to a old car window-wiper motor.
It is powered by an old 9v DC adaptor, the I had lying around. The motor is mounted upside-down in a plastic container I bought at the $2 shop (If you're thinking of trying this at home, DON'T use the wife's tupperware!!)
If you look closely, there's a pot connected at the back to adjust the current (and therefore the speed).
